This place is clean and everyone is so nice and helpful and the vets are excellent!!!
When we showed up to pick our dog up, they told me it was $95.00, I asked how was it so expensive, I paid around $55.00 last time. They went back to get the groomer. She was all sweet saying "I heard you had a question about the price." I advised her it was much cheaper last time, she said there was no way, that 95.00 was the going rate. I asked her to look up what I paid last time. After asking numerous times she said $55.00. She immediately got very nasty, told the girl at the front desk to just charge 55.00. I told her I have be using petsmart for two years and it was only $45.00 and if she is going to charge 95 then I'll have to go somewhere else. She said unless I was going to pay $95.00 I don't want you to come back! Done!!! I asked the girl at the front seat why the drastic change in price. She said the other woman left and this is the new contract groomer and she sets her own prices.
We are very pleased with the care we've experienced at Hickory for our 6 dogs. We love Dr McNesby in particular. Highly recommend and we are picky!
This review is for the groomer attached to the Hickory Vet Clinic/Kennel. I had taken my dog to this place a few months ago for grooming and had a wonderful experience. Two days ago we scheduled her again and dropped her off for grooming, we told them we wanted the same service as last time.
Extremely dissatisfied with the care of my dog! I took my dogs in for their routine shots, and came out with them telling me that my beagle had Lyme disease after blood work and an x-ray. We treated our dog for Lyme disease to be called back a few days later saying that our dog's number was 10, which was not significant. They had me reschedule another office visit to finally get his shots and again I walked out with them telling me that now my dog either has a urinary tract infection or a kidney infection they weren't realy sure what was wrong with him though. We left with another set of antiibiotics for a urinary tract infection. After giving him the second set of antibiotics he appeared to be getting better after a few days and then his health took a horrible turn. Today, my 13 year old son comforted our dog all day as he was not eating, drinking and then stumbled when he tried to walk. He was so bad that I took him to another pet clinic in Bel Air who told me that my dog had cancer in his spleen - which was seen in his x-ray and through their blood work that found that he was bleeding internally. Both of which were missed by Hickory. Our family pet suffered for two weeks with their missed diagnosis and apparent just wanting more money! I WILL NEVER take my other two dogs back to Hickory again and warn anyone else not to use them.
And to make things worse, she did a horrible job. I'll try to post a pic to show the numerous scissor marks and lines she left based on her inexperience in what she's doing.
Really friendly people. They get to know you and are so welcoming.
